Garlic Shrimp recipe

Garlic and shrimp, with just a simple butter sauce, make for a divine dinner.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup butter
1 ½ to 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 to 6 medium cloves garlic, crushed and minced
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
Salt, to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat until butter stops foaming, about 30 to 45 seconds. Add the shrimp and garlic and sauté over medium heat, turning frequently until the shrimp just turn pink, about 4 to 5 minutes.

  2. Add the parsley, lemon juice, and salt to taste; stir well. Remove the pan from the heat and serve.

Enjoy these saucy shrimp over a bed of thin pasta, such as linguini or fettuccine. When choosing a wine, select either your favorite dry red wine, or perhaps a slightly crisp white wine.

Tried it out tonight and loved it. It was the first time I had cooked shrimp even though it is my favorite food of all time. The only thing I did wrong was listen to my boyfriend (who has never had garlic shrimp). He said it tasted undercooked so I put it back on for a minute or two. WRONG MOVE, it tasted perfect before then after it was a little tougher BUT still good (great actually) just not exploding in your mouth good. I will now be doing up shrimp A LOT more often. Thanks

I just tried this recipe and it was absolutely wonderful. Something one would order in a 5 star restaurant, kind of wonderful, and so easy to make!

I just made this recipe. It's good but I wouldnt add any "salt as needed", the butter is enough.

I added a little olive oil, chopped bacon and cheese on top! It was good!

This is a good easy recipe for how to prepare garlic shrimp. The directions were so simple, but it still turned out really tasty. I had a lot of fun making it and even more fun eating it! This a quick basic recipe that I will definitely be making again. Delicious!

Good except for the addition of parsley. It was far too much! Next time I will reduce the serving or omit it all together. Otherwise, pretty enjoyable.

Simple and great. I who only cook for my husband when he's super busy busy. He loved it, I loved it. I made on Sunday and he asked me would I make it for dinner tonight, that's 3 days later.

It was just lovely :). I have added some olive oil with the butter at the start and saffron at the very end of cooking. It gave extra flavour to the dish. It was delicious. I will certainly make it again. Thanks for the easy and great recipe.

It tasted good and was fast to make.

Please remember to use a non reactive pan to make this in. Otherwise the acid from the lemon reacts with the metal pan and creates a toxic gas. This is a great recipe but not if it knocks people off their feet for the wrong way!

This was so great. Made it for work and everyone was asking where did I buy this. "I made it myself" I told them. It's so easy and tastes delicious. One of my favourite dishes.
